Youth Learn to Fence May/June '24

Our entry level class -- learn the basic attacks and defense of modern fencing!    This class is for new and continuing fencers age 8-13. Fencers typically continue at this level for at least two full sessions.

USA Fencing membership is required.

Level 1

$200 (1 or 2x per week for seven weeks.)

Meets Monday 4:45 - 5:45  AND/OR Saturday 9am-10, April 29 - June 24

No Class May 25 & May 27 (Memorial Day Weekend)

No Class June 15 (Pomme de Terre Competition at Brandeis)

Class requirements:

• Fencers must purchase their own fencing glove. ($15, see registration form.)
  

• Fencers must wear long athletic pants, t-shirts, and clean, dry sneakers to class
• Fencers should bring a water bottle to class. (We have a water bottle filling station.)
• We will provide the necessary equipment for the student's exclusive use while enrolled.  Equipment must be returned on the last day of class. (Excluding glove).
  
• Returning students are asked to provide their own fencing mask.
  
• Participants must bring in a signed enrollment form to their first class.
• Bring your US Fencing membership confirmation to your first class.

Teen/Adult Learn to Fence May/June 2024

Cost: $225 (1 or 2x per week for 7 weeks)

USA Fencing Membership Required

Monday 6-7:15 and/or Saturday 1:30-2:45 April 29 through June 24th

Class will meet at 11:30 am on May 11 due to event at WFC

No Class 5/25 & 5/27 (Memorial Day Weekend)

No Class 6/15 (Pomme de Terre Fencing Competition at Brandeis)

Get moving and practice your fencing skills!  More advanced techniques and tactics will be covered and this class will also give you an opportunity to fence with your peers.  For experienced foil and epee fencers age 13+

• We will provide a set of the necessary equipment for new student's exclusive use while enrolled.  Equipment must be returned on the last day of class.

Youth Skills May/June Foil/Epee 2024

level 2

Get moving and practice your fencing skills!  This intermediate level class features a variety of skill development exercises and bouting.  Class runs for 75 minutes.  This class is for experienced fencers age 8-13.

Cost: $225 1 or 2x per week for 7 weeks

Wednesday 4:45- 6 AND/OR Saturday 10-11:15 May 1 through June26

No Class May 25 & 27 (Memorial Day Weekend)

No Class June 15 (Pomme de Terre Competition at Brandeis)

More advanced level training for fencers age 10-14 who have had at least two full sessions of skills classes and are ready to explore competitive fencing.  Coach's approval is required to enroll. Fencers joining the team should fence at least two times per week, and begin taking individual lessons.  Thursday team practice runs for an hour and a half, and fencers can also attend Wednesday and/or Saturday Youth Skills classes.   We will coordinate local and in-house competitions.  Both foil and epee will be offered.

Level 3 - WFC membership required

US Fencing Membership (Access or Competitive) required

Our advanced level class for experienced fencers who are serious about improving their  skills.  Coach's permission required. Fencers should be attending at least two times per week, taking regular private lessons and participating in our in-house competitions (as well as local, regional and national competitions if so desired). Age 13+

Wednesday 6:15-8:15

Thursday 6:15-8:15

Saturday 11:30-1:30

Optional Private Lesson add-ons (To be scheduled directly with coach):

• $240 (1 per week, maximum of 8)
• $120 (2 per month)
• $60 (1 per month)

Wednesday and Thursday classes conclude with open fencing.
